If you’ve been following my YouTube channel then you know that I’ve been on the hunt to find ethically made kids clothes that don’t require you to take out a second mortgage on your home. Ok that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but I know I cannot be the only one who struggles with wanting to feel good about the clothes I put my kids in but feeling like I don’t have the funds in our account to support this desire. Recently I asked you on Instagram stories for your favourite ethically made clothing companies and I also was doing a ton of my own research! This is the result of that search: 6 ethically made kids and momma’s clothing companies that won’t break the bank!
Now I should mention as a disclaimer, if you’re comparing these prices to big box stores like Walmart, then yes, these prices won’t compete but if you’re used to shopping at places like H&M, The Gap or Carters, then these prices are super competitive. Also to note, these prices are in CAN $ so if you’re shopping from the USA or elsewhere the prices will be even lower!
I found this amazing Canadian clothing designer on a whim. I’m a momma who enjoys a good romper. Are they sexy? Heck, no! Do they feel like PJs but pass socially as publicly acceptable clothing? Yes…and that’s a win for me! This is a great brand for simple yet stylish basics! I love the neutral-tone pallet the clothes offer as well as the fact that the clothes are natural fabrics and often organic. Made in Vancouver, Canada Petits Vilains offers affordable yet stylist modern yet timeless pieces for children aged 1-7 (ish…we all know kids come in all sizes).
Mini Mioche might be the definition of comfort-meets-style. I swooned over the colour pallet (especially their earth coloured jogger pants) and then was even more impressed when I saw their prices. Dedicated to creating ethically made and organic baby and kids clothing, Mini Mioche also takes it one step further by helping impact the world in philanthropic ways as well! Easily recognized for their hipster-bear prints, Huxbaby is the perfect brand for the hipster baby, toddler, child (or mom)! I personally have several of their pieces which have lasted perfectly after over 2 years of use. They haven’t shrunk, pilled, pulled or come apart and my kids are NOT easy on their clothes!
